Ridgemont Highlands sire Canford Cliffs enjoyed a champagne day at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
His multiple stakes winning son Cliff’s Edge won the Gr2 Crystal Mile, while his daughter Princess Posh ran a cracking third in the Gr3 Tesio Stakes.

A tough and hardy galloper, Cliff’s Edge will use the platform of this outstanding weight-for-age score into a big bid for glory in the A$1 million Gr1 Cantala Stakes next Saturday.
Victoria’s premier trainer Darren Weir believes the victory is the perfect springboard for Cliff’s Edge seven days later into the Kennedy Mile at Flemington.
Weir said Cliff’s Edge was a tough horse who had the perfect style by being able to race on the pace and make his own luck.
Those qualities were handy to have on Saturday as jockey John Allen had Cliff’s Edge up outside the leader Siege Of Quebec before applying the pressure to him rounding the home turn.
Cliff’s Edge got the better of Siege Of Quebec and then rallied to have a half-length advantage at the winning post over runner-up Prized Icon with a short half-head to Duca Valentinois third.
“He’s got the best attitude, that’s why he can race like he does,” Weir said.
“He doesn’t pull when he gets up there on the pace.
“He’s just a good horse.”
A A$60 000 purchase off the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale , Cliff’s Edge has registered 8 wins from 21 starts with prizemoney of A$1,033,960.00.

Beyond Cliff’s Edge and Princess Posh, Canford Cliffs, a five time Gr1 winner, has also enjoyed group/graded success in 2018 with Mike de Kock’s Fish River and his smart son Meraki registered his second career success at Durbanville on Saturday 20 October.
