Anton Marcus let Run Fox Run settle in front, with the favourite disputing favouritism with last season’s G3 Cape Classic winner Silver Operator (25-1) and the every speedy Icon Princess (25-1).

Run Fox Run kept going, and when asked for the question, the top-class sprinter went away to register a cosy three-parts of a length win over Icon Princess, with the latter benefiting from the 2.5kgs claim of inform apprentice Joshwin Solomons and running a bold race in second. Silver Operator made a pleasing return to the track after a lengthy layoff and running over a trip short of his best, with apprentice ridden Southeaster Sprint hero Elusive Trader flying up to finish fourth.

Run Fox Run, who claimed Saturday’s race in a time of 64.63, provided owners Ridgemont Highlands, trainer Brett Crawford and jockey Anton Marcus with a second win on the card, with the combination also tasting success with Silver Saber in the first race.
