The winner of six of only ten starts, and a full-brother to G1 winning champion Mustaaqeem, Rafeef has a potent, power-packed pedigree.

A son of two champions, Rafeef shares his triple Australian champion sire Redoute’s Choice with such as four times Australian champion sire Snitzel, the hugely successful Not A Single Doubt, and proven G1 sires Stratum, Nadeem, Time Thief, and Fast ‘N’ Famous.

Another son of Redoute’s Choice, five time G1 winner The Autumn Sun, is currently standing at stud in Australia for a fee of AUS$66,000 – or more than R790,000!

Redoute’s Choice, whose progeny include more than 170 stakes winners, is also the sire of Elzaam – whose daughter Champers Elysees has won all four of her starts in 2020 including the G1 Coolmore America “Justify” Matron Stakes where she accounted for the G1 winners Peaceful, Fancy Blue and Albigna.

Redoute’s Choice’s son Rafeef is one of two G1 winners produced by triple G1 winner and South African Horse Of The Year National Colour – whose sire National Assembly also rates as the broodmare sire of very exciting Cape sire, and Equus Champion, Vercingetorix.

A real speed machine, National Colour won seven of just ten starts in South Africa, including the G1 Mercury Sprint, G1 Computaform Sprint and G1 South African Fillies Sprint, before going on to an international campaign which saw her finish a game second in the storied G1 Nunthorpe Stakes.

National Colour’s dam, Champagne Stakes winner Rainbow Cake, has also been in the news of late as the granddam of two very smart fillies.

Rainbow Cake’s three-year-old granddaughter Anna Capri (by Var out of Rainbow Cake’s Daylami daugher Zemfira) has won two of just three starts thus far, and she looks destined for bigger and better things. Zemfira’s own sister Puritani is also keeping this family in the news, with Puritani’s four-year-old daughter Sheer Talent (by Ideal World) having now won her last four races in a row.

Rafeef has an exceptionally well bred crop of first two-year-olds representing him this season, with his first crop including youngsters out of such stakes winning mares as Bambina Stripes and Yoshie, as well as siblings to graded stakes winners August Rush, Missisippi Burning, Miss October, Normanz and Undercover Agent.
