Ridgemont Highlands’ prominent young sire Rafeef is seldom out of the news these days, and the former G1 Computaform Sprint winner came up with yet another eye catching winner at Turffontein on Tuesday afternoon.
Rafeef’s two-year-old daughter Mrs Browning made the perfect start to her racing career when she made a winning debut in open company on Tuesday.
A full-sister to G1 WSB SA Derby winner Aragosta, Mrs Browning was given a well judged ride by Muzi Yeni to land the TAB 4Racing App Maiden Plate over1200 metres.
Racing midfield for much of the race, Mrs Browning swooped late to get up close home and win on debut by a length and a quarter.
Trained by Paul Peter, Mrs Browning was bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein.
Mrs Browning, who is out of the Galileo mare Miss Galidora, was a R120 000 buy from the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale.
She is a member of Rafeef’s outstanding second crop, with this crop also including brilliant G1 Gold Medallion winner Thunderstruck and Listed TAB Perfect Promise Sprint queen Who Do You Love.
