Japanese champion, and six time G1 winner, Maurice looks to have a really smart prospect to his name in the form of Whoa Whoa Whoa.
The latter made it two wins from two starts when running out a ready winner of the final race at Kenilworth on Saturday. The performance of the filly added to the earlier success of Maurice, when his first crop son Mazu, became the first southern hemisphere stakes winner for his sire, winning the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick in Australia.
Whoa Whoa Whoa, a good winner of her only start, put up an eye catching performance on her first start out of the maidens in Saturday’s Next Meeting 26 Oct-Kenilworth FM 77 Divided Handicap (F&M) (1200m).
Always up with the pace, under Anton Marcus, the progressive three-year-old hit the front some way from home and kept galloping powerfully to register a two and a quarter length, with another promising filly Long White Cloud taking second spot.

In turn, Long White Cloud finished half a length clear of the third filly home, L’Ami Jean.
Trained by Brett Crawford for owner-breeders Ridgemont, Whoa Whoa Whoa became Maurice’s first South African winner when she skated home to win on debut back in September.
The three-year-old, a member of her sire’s first crop, is a half-sister to the talented Kitty Cat Chat and out of the Fast ‘N’ Famous mare Whats New Pussycat, a half-sister to the stakes winning Seaway.
