Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs came up with a tenth winner from his first South African conceived crop of runners when his two-year-old daughter Totally Rocks ran out an impressive winner at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Saturday.
Trained by Dennis Drier, Totally Rocks had finished a close up fourth last time out but made no mistakes in Saturday’s The Home Straight-PMB Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) with a smart display.
Under Sean Veale, Totally Rocks powered away to score by nearly three lengths and she won’t stop here!
Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, Totally Rocks is out of the Kildonan mare Beach Goddess.
She is one of a growing number of smart winners to have emerged from Canford Cliffs’ first local crop with others including Listed City Of Cape Town Summer Juvenile Stakes/Listed East Cape Nursery winner Cliff Top and the likes of Body Electric, I Am Regal and Big Slick.
The star miler’s good start in South Africa has seen Canford Cliffs rise to fifth on South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs List for the season, and he ranks above the likes of Master Of My Fate, Trippi and Vercingetorix on this list.
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2021-2022, Canford Cliffs has five lots on offer at the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale.
