Back To Back For Big Slick

Fresh off supplying Friday’s impressive Listed East Cape Nursery winner Cliff Top, Ridgemont Highlands’  exciting sire Canford Cliffs came up with another smart looking two-year-old winner when his son Big Slick won at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday.

An impressive winner of his previous start, having finished third on debut, Big Slick justified tote favouritism with a fluent win in Monday’s Catch KZN Racing Live Streaming On www.galloptv.co.za Juvenile Plate (1200m).

Under Robert Khathi, the Yogas Govender trained colt was always up with the pace, and when Khathi asked him to quicken up, Big Slick quickly put the race to bed before pulling away to register a near one and three-quarter length win.

Now a two time winner from just three starts, Big Slick was bred by Golden Touch Thoroughbred Services in partnership with Mr Kidd.

Big Slick, who is out of the Tamburlaine mare Velvets Reflection, was a R320 000 buy from the 2021 CTS Ready To Run Sale.

His five time G1-winning sire Canford Cliffs has made a flying start with his first South African bred and born runners this season and is currently South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire for 2021-2022 thus far.

Canford Cliffs also ranks third, at the time of writing, on the Leading Sires of 2YOs premiership, where he is above such proven stallions as Gimmethegreenlight, Vercingetorix, and Var.
