Australian Success For Canford Cliffs

Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs had a notable winner in Australia on Saturday when his classy daughter Cliff’s Art scored at Randwick.

A Listed winner in Germany, six-year-old Cliff’s Art bounced back to winning ways when she captured Saturday’s Furphy Handicap over 1600m for Matthew Smith and jockey Reece Jones.

The durable mare has now won five times overall.

Cliff’s Art, who is out of the Areion mare Saldenart, is one of 21 stakes winners thus far for Canford Cliffs.

The latter has made a tremendous start with his first South Africa two-year-olds this season and currently is the country’s Leading First Season Sire of 2021-2022.

A group winner at Royal Ascot three years running, Canford Cliffs’ first South African crop is headed by Listed City Of Cape Town Summer Juvenile Stakes/Listed East Cape Nursery winner Cliff Top and smart winners Body Electric, I Am Regal, Ridgerunner and Whatyouwaitingfor.

The former Irish 2000 Guineas winner has two lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale, and five yearlings on sale at the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale.
