The Ridgemont Highlands-sponsored Greg Cheyne has had a fine season already in 2021-2022 thus far, and the personable jockey made it 50 wins in the Eastern Cape for the current season when he booted home a pair of winners at Fairview on Friday.
Cheyne ended Friday in great style, landing the last two races on the card on Rock Garden and Paris Opera respectively.
Both Rock Garden (Flower Alley x Rosier) and Paris Opera (Wylie Hall x Opera Fever) are trained by Alan Greeff.
Champion jockey in the Eastern Cape for 2020-2021, Cheyne has been in fine form, with the rider recently landing a pair of races on Met day, including the Listed City Of Cape Town Summer Juvenile Stakes with Canford Cliffs’ hugely exciting son Cliff Top (header image).
At the time of writing, Greg is sixth on the South African jockeys log, with his mounts having already earned in excess of R4.584 million this season.
